Our 化学 Bachelor of Science program is designed for students interested in a rigorous curriculum where science is most broadly studied with chemistry at the core, preparing you to enter the workforce directly into a chemistry-based occupation or 研究. Students in the Bachelor's program are also well-equipped to enter graduate school to pursue 硕士 or Doctoral levels of education in the sciences.
The ACS-approved degree requires the core major plus six additional credit hours. Students completing the additional credits will be certified to ACS upon graduation 和 are immediately eligible to join ACS. Students who intend to pursue graduate studies in chemistry or who desire a nationally certified degree should consider the additional course work.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in 化学 at Alfred University is an interdisciplinary degree utilizing course offerings available across our campus. Students that complete the BS degree need to take 10 credit hours from upper-level courses in science, engineering or mathematics beyond our Bachelor of 艺术 (BA) degree program in 化学.

All courses taken as part of the 化学 major must be passed with a grade of C or better; transferred courses not already described in pre-existing articulation agreements must have approval from the Division of 化学 to receive major credit. Any lab courses indicated as having been delivered in an online format are not accepted by the Division of 化学.
