Zhongbei (Daisy) Wu

Zhongbei (Daisy) Wu is an award-winning guzheng (traditional Chinese instrument) artist. Her brilliant career has consisted of outstanding solo performances and unique collaborative performances in spaces such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the United Nations Headquarters, the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and on China National Television (CCTV), attracting global audiences. Wu is widely regarded as a groundbreaking creator, known for her contemporary works that push the boundaries of traditional Chinese music. She currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Music and Language at Alfred University, imparting expertise in Chinese music and guzheng courses. In 2011, she founded the Alfred University Guzheng Ensemble and serves as its artistic director. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Wu was honored with the"Alfred University Spirit of Service" award in 2021.
